As with natural persons, legal persons, for the most part business enterprises, are subject to tax. They must submit a tax declaration and pay tax on their earnings and their capital.
A company’s taxation always originates from its accounts. The company’s profit or loss effectively determines the latter. The tax authority cannot reject it without good reason.
Effective tax planning therefore requires anticipating the events that generate tax and duly taking these into account in business accounting.
